The ending made me sad, because it was bad. I didn’t like how androcentric the book was, and the way the female characters were used in the plot a couple of them were used essentially to show that Peter was heterosexual, rather than being well-rounded and complex like Peter and Tomas and the rest were all either stupid or evil.

This isn’t a genre book. The ‘Sword’ part was also quite good but not entirely ks or original. It was such a short while since he’d been cutting wood with his axe. May I invite you to take a quick look at the nicely-designed creepy cover art and the cool title.

This is a nicely judged horror story for children – scary enough to be worth reading, but with enough heroism to keep them swordhhand safe. I felt his decisions and fears. Sedgwick’s novels are some of the best I have read and his writing is great! The ‘Miorita’ eynopsis adds an exceptional twist to the book and makes it really unique.

His desolate, 17th century world is lush with descriptive images, characters that seem to matter, and a story arch that shows planning. It’s used in a really heavy-handed way, you’re pretty much hit over the head with it. I enjoyed the characters in this story very much, and the atmospheric setting, and may actually read the next book in the series. Something is very, very wrong. I hate those versions of vampires. So at the beginning of the book, we have Peter who sort of has a girlfriend named Agnes.
